Alas, cruel fate

Well, Lolly broke up with me this evening. She told me that she'd been feeling that something wasn't right since just before Christmas, and had hoped that a vacation would let her recharge and dismiss the feeling, but it didn't. So she came over to exchange Christmas presents, and we talked, and broke things off. She just doesn't feel that she can devote enough time to a significant other at this point in her life, and that it wouldn't be fair to keep dating me knowing she couldn't put me first in things. I've honestly never felt placed second, but in this case, it's her perception that matters. It just sucks, particularly since I had no idea anything was wrong.
Still, we're still going to be good friends - we were before dating, and neither of us see a reason to stop just because we aren't. And I'm grateful to her for getting me back into martial arts - I am *not* giving that up. I just wish things had worked differently, since we seemed to do so well together. Oh well, life goes on, and I'll meet the right person one of these days. I'm definitely looking forward to dance tomorrow.

Sorry about that... I think there's something in the air. January 2004 isn't shaping up to be the best month in the world... you're the third of my friends to get broken up with in the last week and a half.
